35TH CIPET CENTRE NAUGURATES IN AGARTALA!

The 35th centre for Central Institute of Plastic Engineering and Technology (CIPET): Centre for Skilling and Technical Support (CSTS) has been inaugurated Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers D. V. Sadananda Gowda in presence of Deputy Chief Minister here at Agartala town hall on Saturday.
 
Addressing the gathering, union minister D. V. Sadananda Gowda said that during the regime of Narendra Modi led NDA government the overall development in entire Northeast region has been augmented, especially in education and infrastructure segments.

During last five years, the CIPET has grown from 23 locations to 35 locations across the country and Agartala centre is one of its 35 centers being established with a total project cost of Rs. 40.10 crore by 50: 50 of both state and union governments, said Gowda.

The entire plastic industry, which has significant contribution towards development has gaining its momentum during last five years, said Gowda.

Earlier, in the inauguration programme, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarma said despite inherited huge financial crisis, now Tripura is progressing towards complete developments.

Speaking in the programme,  Dr Sandesh Kumar Jain, principal director of CIPET said CIPET is a premier national institute under union ministry of chemicals and fertilizers  is fully devoted  to STAR( skill development, technology support services, academic and research) in all the domains of plastic engineering and technology.

Dr Jain adding that Agartala centre would be a diploma level institute, which is approved by AICTE and in coming days, the CIPET Agartala would also set up a laboratory for different product testing facilities.

He also said that six more centers like Agartala would also come up in different parts of the country.

He informed the gathering that Agartala institute has started its functioning since March, 2017 and provided skill development training to unemployed youths of the state in technical services to plastic and allied industries of the state. Last year, they had given training to 195 youths of the state and also provided placements in different organizations. This year, altogether 315 youths were given different skill development training and processes of placements are also going on, said Jain.

MLA Ratan Chakraborty also addressed the gathering. Later, in the programme certificates were given to some successful students, who had completed their skilled development training from CIPET and got placements in different institutes.
