TRIPURA GOVERNMENT TO APPOINT ‘ACADEMIC LEADERS’ TO IMPROVE EDUCATION!

In order to improve the quality of education in Tripura, the state government will appoint ‘Academic Leaders’ and arrange special training of the school teachers by national and regional institutions.

Tripura education minister Ratan Lal Nath said that the state government has decided to appoint 800 Academic Leaders to closely supervise teaching in schools.

He also said that special training would be given to 25, 000 government teachers in various schools of the state.

As per reports, the teachers will be given financial assistance, laptops and other kinds of facilities and support during the course of the training.

Nath added that the state government has allotted Rs 28 crore for the new schemes to bring about significant, positive changes in the educational sector of the state in the next three years.

The Tripura government also recently launched the Natun Disha programme to assess the academic level of students in classes III to VIII.

Nath added that the scheme would greatly help in the improvement of education in Tripura as it would encourage interaction between teachers and parents for resolving various issues related to education.

On March 3, the first day of the teacher-guardian interactive meet 2,18,484 guardians of 3.20 lakh students discussed and resolved various issues, the minister said.

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and the education minister visited several schools and observed the interaction.

He also said that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government has recently trained 40,660 school teachers to enable them to switch to the NCERT curriculum from the next academic session beginning April.

“For the first time in 43 years, NCERT courses would be introduced in nearly 5,000 government-run schools from the 2019-20 academic session,” the Minister stated.
